Intensive Outpatient Program

What Is an Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (ED IOP)?

An Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (ED IOP) provides specialized treatment for individuals struggling with eating disorders who need more support than traditional outpatient care but do not require 24-hour hospitalization or residential treatment.

Our program combines evidence-based therapy, nutrition counseling, meal support, skills development, and medical coordination in a structured treatment environment while allowing clients to continue living at home, attending school, or maintaining work responsibilities.

We treat a range of eating and feeding disorders, including:

  • Anorexia Nervosa (AN)
  • Bulimia Nervosa (BN)
  • Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
  • Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED)
  • Chronic dieting and disordered eating behaviors

At Cypress Springs Eating Disorder Treatment Center, our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to help clients restore nutritional health, challenge eating disorder thoughts and behaviors, develop coping skills, and build a sustainable recovery.

Who Is ED IOP For?

  • Individuals needing more support than weekly therapy and nutrition sessions (average care 9-12 hours per week)
  • Those stepping down from residential or PHP levels of care
  • Individuals experiencing worsening eating disorder symptoms that interfere with daily life
  • Clients who are medically stable and able to participate in high level outpatient treatment

Our goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that promotes lasting recovery while allowing clients to remain connected to their families, communities, and daily lives.
